In our animal shelters, we collaborate with non-profit organizations who work tirelessly with a variety of animals. The majority of animals have been mistreated, neglected, or merely rescued from a tragedy. We focus primarily dogs, alpaca, llamas, and other abused animals that have made it to one of our shelters. We also go into the community and help with vaccinations, grooming, and sometimes sterilization.
Your typical day will start in the morning or after lunch. Feeding, cleaning, and helping the volunteer staff with daily duties is such a great contribution for our partner organizations. With larger animals, we prepare their food from scratch and may even help them eat if they are injured or too young to do so. Our organizations at times are working with very little help. During and after the pandemic, they’ve had little hands-on assistance. Many have closed down leaving animals without homes or a means to survive. As travel has increased, we are slowly able to provide the much needed assistance.
